Travel Assistance

Benefits of the Travel Assistance Program include:

• Emergency evacuation should the member suffer an illness or injury that requires transport to the nearest hospital capable of providing the necessary treatment.

• Return transportation if the medical director determines it is medically necessary to bring the member to a hospital or nursing home nearer his place of residence.

• Air transport for the member's spouse or family member so the member may be accompanied in flight. This is subject to space availability, with priority being given to medical equipment aboard and the safety and welfare of the patient.

• Transportation for a family member, in the event the member is traveling alone and is hospitalized for more than seven days.

• Transportation and escort will be provided for minor children to the member’s place of residence if the member's minor children are left unattended as a result of the member's emergency evacuation, or if the member is hospitalized for more than 24 hours, or in the event of death.

• Return of the member's ground vehicle (car, van, motor home) to the member's residence within the continental United States when illness, injury or death requires emergency evacuation and the member is unable to drive the vehicle.

• In the event of the member's death, air ambulance will pay reasonable expenses to return the member's remains to a location nearest the member's residence in the U.S.

• A 24 hour emergency assistance center staffed by multilingual representatives to assist the member with a wide variety of travel related situations such a required documents, immunization requirements, weather and hazard information about foreign locations, and medical care en route. This emergency assistance center will assist the member in obtaining local medical care when needed.

PHCS Physician Network & Galaxy Hospital Network

By using the PHCS proprietary network of over 350,00 Doctors at over 750,000 provider locations nationwide, members can access 20% to 45% savings on medical services. Members can save money on services such as routine office visits and ancillary services, including lab work and imaging centers by accessing a participating provider. This program does not include access to PHCS hospitals or physician assistants.

The Galaxy Health Network Hospital (GHNH) program provides members with access to over 2,500 acute-care hospitals nationwide. Members have the opportunity to save 10% to 30% or more. Remember, this program is not insurance and members are responsible for paying the discounted bill in full. Members are able to utilize any in-network provider or facility as often as needed.
